Fostering Community PartnershipsA team of colleagues developed a proposal to meet the changing needs of the Lincoln Heights student and parent/guardian population. Meetings with Wake County Human Services, The Office of Student Support Services, Project Enlightenment and The Office of Family and Community Engagement resulted in the approval of Wake County's first comprehensive program that used a PULL vs. a PUSH approach to family and student engagement.

Susan Hite PartnershipSusan Hite was not only a public speaker and life coach, she was also a mother with two children in WCPSS. When I approached her and asked if she'd be willing to do a pro bono presentation for STAC (under the leadership of Bill McNeal and Kim Hughes), she jumped at the opportunity to support the school system.
Teaching Matters was created as a collaborative effort with Kim Hughes and Susan Hite. The vision was that Clearchannel Raleigh Radio would air the public announcements to foster school/community partnerships. Unfortunately, that vision did not come to fruition.
